The holiday season is quickly dawning upon us, which means that it's time to book a camping spot if you haven't already done so. I guess that is the first tip - book a camping spot before you do anything else. In this article, I will reveal a few tips that will ease your trip and enhance your camping adventure.

Pack lightly but include the essentials. This sounds contradictory but it's important. Find lightweight versions of the camping equipment that you need. Such as an easy-to-assemble tent with fibreglass poles and a sleeping bag with hollow fibre filling. Using lightweight camping equipment will make your camp visit more relaxed because you won't have to lug around heavy equipment.

Pack non-perishable foods wherever possible. You might be far from a refrigerator so packing something that needs to be kept frozen or cool may not be such a good idea. Also, you won't be able to put everything in a cooler bag. Include foods such as canned baked beans, canned vegetables, or other canned foods that you like. You could include meat but you'll have to prepare it on the day you arrive if you don't store it in a cooler bag.

Use a cooler box. For the items that you need to keep cool such as meat, invest in a quality cooler box. Also remember to include the frozen packs before you leave home. Keep the meat in the cooler box until it's needed and ensure that opening the cooler box is kept to a minimum.

Drink lots of water. This is something that many people underestimate when packing. This is not an item that should be skimped on. We all need plenty of water to remain hydrated while outdoors, especially on those warm and sunny days.

Use sunscreen. While we're on the subject of warm and sunny days, ensure that you include a sunblock with a high protection factor. You want to enjoy your holiday and tell the story after, not be sunburnt afterwards.

Be prepared and have a contingency plan. Wherever you have prepared a food item or have packed your camping equipment include a backup for that item. Alternatively you need to have a plan where you are able to source that camping product or food nearby if needed. So have sufficient cash at hand (not too much) in case of emergency.

These are few camping tips that will make your journey a pleasant one. So get your family together and camping gear loaded and have fun.

Are you looking for a way to eliminate the DVD clutter in your home or workplace? When you store all your discs together, it becomes easy to locate and access them. There are various disc storage options available in the market to help you sort out and organize your DVD stash. These storage items save a significant amount of space and also protect your discs from dust and scratches.

Here are a few storage items that provide practical and economical ideas to all your DVD storage problems:

Wallet cases:

The storage capacity of a wallet case depends on the number of sleeves it has. Some wallet cases have a number of pages and look like a book. As each of these pages have 4 disc slots, you can store hundreds of DVDs in a single wallet. Small-sized cases containing 4 to 6 sleeves are also available. They are compact and make disc access simple. Some wallet cases are as big as briefcases and are provided with zips.

DVD tins:

DVD tins are storage cases that provide high-end, professional packaging. Some DVD tins have a window through which you can see the title of the disc and other information. Some of them come with a tray for convenient storage of multiple discs. These tins come with a removable lid. DVD tins are usually made of metal or plastic and can be used when you have many discs to store.

Multi-way cases and Plastic tubs:

Multi-disc storage items are available in the form of tubs and cases. Multi-way cases contain swing trays or booklet clips that allow an inlay to be inserted. These cases can hold a maximum of 10 to 12 discs. Clear plastic tubs are good for organizing loose DVDs. They come with a central pole (spindle) and can hold up to 50 discs which can be placed one over the other.

Spiders:

DVD spiders are usually made up of strong, rigid styrene. These spiders consist of a self-adhesive plastic clip and are easy to peel and place. Spiders can be used to attach DVDs onto brochures, letters, promotional material etc., and are an effective tool to hold your disc firmly in place. DVD spiders are available in black, white and clear variants.

Sleeves:

Sleeves are convenient storage units for both professional and domestic use. Sleeves come with a creased flap (which may or may not contain adhesive) to protect discs from falling out. As a sleeve is thin and transparent, it is easy to read the label of the DVD which is inside. 1 or 2 discs can be inserted easily in a sleeve. A DVD sleeve is so sleek that it can be carried around between 2 pages of a book.

Managing your DVD collection:

The way you arrange your DVDs depends on the size of your collection and personal preferences. DVDs can be organized in alphabetic order (by artist/movie name), or categorized based on genres, age groups (kids and adults), mood (rocking, relaxing etc) and other criteria of your choice. By doing so, you save a lot of time and energy, which would otherwise be spent in searching! Remember to put your DVDs back in their right places when you finish using them. Make use of labels to locate discs easily when you have your collection arranged in shelves or drawers. In addition to protecting your DVDs with suitable storage cases, it is important to handle them carefully when you take them out for use.

Choosing the right storage solution for your DVD collection

Before thinking of the type of case you want to buy, find out the number of DVDs you need to store. Compare the costs of DVD cases sold by different retailers online and select one that fits your requirements and budget. Look for websites that offer discounts on bulk purchases. Read customer reviews to choose a suitable retailer from whom you can purchase high-quality, durable DVD cases at affordable prices.

To ensure that his company starts generating profits soon, an entrepreneur needs to observe and make a clear note of vital expenses, cheaper options if any for the company. This he must do in the early years of his business.

However, in many cases, the enterprise, say a multichannel contact center, is being managed by a person who is so young that it is not possible that he can possess the required experience to run the business. In such cases, the entrepreneur who has to manage the entire show may get confused and make judgment errors as a result. He may not be able to decide what investments are good for his business and which he should avoid. Lack of experience in contact management and indecisiveness on part of the enterprise owner thus is the cause most businesses end up missing out on a qualitative, reliable and efficient contact management software.

According to experts, contact management is important from the earliest stages of a company's development. The contacts need to be sorted, grouped, detailed and shared using the contact manager, or a CRM software. But these contacts are not necessarily names and numbers of clients. It can any information or clue which can take the manager to a prospective client, or even an entirely new market. It may also lead to a new distributor that can provide the company with cheaper products and services.

The way a web based contact management software can be useful in smoothening the functioning of small businesses is simply amazing! It provides all the support and help a company of this size requires, especially because the needs and expectations of small businesses are invariably complex than the ones which are transnational.

Now, what exactly does a web contact management software do? It has numerous features to perform several functions, the most important ones being those with which the user:

Can complete the client's contact details such as details of his work place, e-mails, and even home addresses

Can save and transfer the contact details, electronic conversations

<lil>Can store histories about orders and other transactions

To merge several e-mail accounts into a single one

Schedule reminders for users regarding appointments, meetings, web conferences, etc.

</lil>

Every company, in order to grow, must go for Web Based Contact Management software. This will save it the money which is otherwise spent in hiring additional personnel to take care of the administrative chores.

Very few things freak students out as much as financial aid woes. Some students just give up, thinking that they can't possibly qualify for grants and scholarships. They quickly turn to private lenders for student loans, not realizing the consequences of doing so.

Some students do persevere and submit their Free Application for Federal Student AID (better known as the FAFSA), but misconceptions and misunderstandings often lead to mistakes in the application. These mistakes are not cheap; they could easily lower the grant amount a student receives by thousands.

Here are some tips to help you file your FAFSA and get the best possible financial aid for your education.

Tips on Filing Your FAFSA

GATHER THE DOCUMENTS YOU'LL NEED BEFORE YOU START

The form requires a lot of information, ranging from your Social Security number to your parents' income information. It's better to have all the documents at hand before you start filling out the form. You don't want to be running around looking up documents when you're halfway through entering details. Some documents you'll likely need for the FAFSA form are your Social Security card, driver's license, bank statements, income tax returns, and other scholarship or financial aid documentation.

USE THE IRS DATA RETRIEVAL TOOL

Once your form is submitted, it will be verified and any errors found could negatively affect the total aid you'll receive. As such, it's important to make sure that all your information is correct before you submit anything. The online FAFSA form will allow you to use the IRS Data Retrieval tool that will automatically populate the relevant fields with data from your latest tax returns. This eliminates the possibility of errors and improves your chances of getting a better financial aid package.

USE THE ONLINE FORM FOR SUBMISSION

As mentioned earlier, the online form has the IRS Data Retrieval tool to minimize the potential for mistakes. Another benefit of the online form is that it has built-in edit checks that will make sure you catch errors more easily. If you print out the form and try to fill that out instead, you'll have to proofread more thoroughly.

PIN, SIGN, AND DATE

You'll have to sign the form with your PIN number to verify before you submit. If you're a dependent, your parents will need to have their own PINs and sign off the online form, too, before submission. You'll need the pin for not only electronically signing your FAFSA but also to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Student Loan Entrance Counseling, both of which are required before any federal financial aid will be awarded or disbursed. After submitting online, print the signature page, sign it, date it, and then send to the FAFSA office via mail.

MAKE SURE TO SUBMIT YOUR FORM EARLY

Some students make the mistake of waiting for the deadline. Don't wait! Because the FAFSA budget is finite, the earlier you submit, the bigger the likelihood that you'll get a substantial aid package. Of course, remember to take note of the deadlines imposed by the universities you're applying to, as well.

KEEP YOUR PERTINENT DETAILS IN A FOLDER FOR NEXT YEAR

One thing most students overlook is the fact that the FAFSA application is not a one-time thing. You will have to reapply each year, and circumstances in your family financial situation can affect the aid you receive. Keep the important details for your application in a folder so you can easily retrieve the data for next year's FAFSA form.

Common Financial Aid Mistakes

Not submitting your FAFSA at all. If you don't submit your FAFSA form, you lose out on the opportunity for financial aid. Don't be discouraged. Submitting your application is always an option.

Rushing through student loan entrance and exit counseling. Whether through traditional loan counseling methods or new innovative and interactive video-based student loan counseling, there is a reason why this is a required step. It is important for students to fully understand what responsibilities are associated with student loans prior to disbursement and after graduation. Some students rush through the counseling as if it is a burden and just part of the process. Do yourself and your students a favor and invest in fully understanding the student loan process and obligations.
Using a temporary address instead of your home address. When renewing FAFSA applications, some students list temporary addresses, such as dorm rooms. It's better to use your home address to ensure safe correspondence.

Not including yourself in the household size. Some students forget to include themselves when listing down the household size. Remember that you are a member of the household and a student, so take note of these details when filling out the form.

Entering nicknames instead of legal names. This seems like a very simple reminder, but you'd be surprised by how many people tend to forget their second names. Use the name that is printed on your social security ID.

Using the incorrect federal school code. When you use the wrong code, the FAFSA evaluation will be affected and you likely won't get the aid you expect.

Not including step-parents in the form. When you fill out your form, remember to include the income information of the step-parent in your custodial home.

Leaving items blank. Don't leave any field unanswered.

Forgetting to sign the form. This is important. As mentioned above, get a PIN and submit your online form. Print it, sign it, date it, and mail the signature form.

Submitting late. They say better late than never, but not in FAFSA's case. Late submissions mean you've likely missed out on better aid packages, so be sure to submit early.
Did you know that the average conversion rate can vary between 1.5 -6.0% depending on the specific niche in which your site operates? As a conversion rate optimization expert, I can't even tell you the number of times a client has told me they have a "solid conversion rate" of around 2% or whatever--in an industry where the average rate is more than double that. Here, just take a look at the average conversion rate (for all of 2013 on Google AdWords traffic) for some of the top niches:

Retail/Consumer Shopping: 3.6%

Electronics/Computers: 4.8%

Telecom/Internet: 6.3%

For a full listing of the average conversion rates for the primary niches on the Internet, just check out the AdWords Performance Grader and compare to your own conversion rate.

So if your c/r is literally ½ of the industry standard for your niche, then you aren't just leaving some money on the table each month: You are leaving an entire lifestyle on the table every month! Seriously, just imagine how much your online profits would shoot up if you could generate double the number of conversions you have now-with the exact same marketing budget.

It's a game changer, simple as that. For this very reason, companies like Sony, Netflix, and even mighty Apple have all hired conversion rate optimization firms. Now the reason they have to hire outside firms to fix their low conversions isn't so simple because it could be caused by any one of these issues:

Wrong Price Point or Business Model (for website)

Weak or Ineffective Marketing Funnel(s)

Poor Keyword Research and Targeting in Traffic Campaigns

Inconsistent Offer Throughout Your Sales Funnel

Bad Programming Which Kills SEO, Slows Load Times, and Causes Site Glitches

Poor Copywriting

Confusing Site Navigation, Layout, and Overall Design

Improper Configuration of Plugins, Software Platforms, Shopping Carts, etc.

All told, a website has 1,000's of components. From the lines of copywriting to the lines of programming, any one mistake can kill conversions. However, a website owner can't afford to just shut the site down and start over or afford rounds of endless split testing to try and isolate the problems. Instead, and not knowing where to start, most website owners simply concentrate on driving more traffic to the site to boost sales when the c/r is, and always has been, the real reason they can't generate decent profits.

A CRO expert, however, uses web traffic analysis to find all of the issues that are killing your online profits. To do so, they employ software tools like Google Analytics, Optimizely, or even Crazy Egg. Once identified, the conversion rate experts will fix the problems and then verify the new, higher conversion rate, via testing over a large sample size. Once fixed, not only will the site generate more sales from the same traffic volume: The increased sales will continue rolling in for up to years after the project has been completed.

To be honest, hiring a conversion rate optimization company may not make sense for your online business at this time. However, at least click on the link above and check to see where your c/r stands compared to the benchmark rates for your niche. At least that way you'll know if fixing a low conversion rate or getting more traffic is the key to generating those online profits you want and deserve. But don't guess-just click on the link and find out for sure!
There are many great ways to make money using the internet. Some of the opportunities are fairly simple while others are difficult. Some opportunities offer faster paychecks than others. Here are 7 ways you can make money online and build your fortunes.

1. Selling on eBay

eBay is one of the most popular online stores where you can list your own things for sale that you no longer need, but that someone else is interested in buying them by paying it. The best way to make money quickly on eBay is to list your items on a one or two or three day auctions. You should price your items as low as possible to encourage a sale.

2. Blogging

If you have a passion for blogging, it is a brilliant way to start your online business. You can start up a blog at a very minimal costs and register for Google AdSense program which posts relevant contextual ads on your blog, if you already have a traffic and good readership. There are several programs you can join like Chitika or Bidvertiser. Google AdSense is the best well known program. You will have to put in the ad code on your blog, and every time someone clicks on the ad links, you will get paid by Google.

3. Affiliate Marketing Programs

Online affiliate programs are the marketing of products produced by someone else. It can be easily being completed within the context of blogging. A link is fixed in the blog including an affiliate code. When a reader clicks on the link they are intended for a site where they receive a marketing message. When they buy a product or service as a result of this process the blogger/marketer gets a commission in return.

4. Freelancing

If one is fascinated in freelancing, he must have more knowledge than any random blogger. There are many freelance writing positions available on the net and if you have the potential, experience, and knowledge to execute the writing jobs effectively, a lot of money can be made. In addition, you cannot simply make profit by freelance writing, but also by freelance graphic designing or programming. These jobs as well have a good amount to present and allow a person to earn quite a heavy amount in a matter of weeks.

5. Domain name flipping

Domain name flipping is a lucrative method to earn cash online. Flippers try to find sites that are badly maintained and out-of-date and purchase them. They then repair the site and make it more user- friendly and cause extensive updating. After repairing the site, it usually sells off for a much higher cost than it was originally bought for and gives the flippers a vast amount of profit. Time and effort is required.

6. E-book Creation

The self publishing idea has seen huge levels of development in the past few years. Authors no longer have to publish books on their own sites, as books can purely be posted on Barnes and Noble and Amazon. Ergo, individuals who have a talent for writing can select any genre they like and write a book on it to assess their luck. The commission rates range from about 70% of these sites, so if the book that you have written turns well-liked, some really enormous amounts of money can be made.

7. Online tutoring

If you are skilled tutor then you might earn money by training students on the internet. In fact, you can get a lot of students if you can build your reputation as a tutor who gifts students to get good results. Over time, you could also build a good base of students who want to sign up for your webinars.

The various methods named above endow you to make money online using your personal skill and time. You can make quite a bit of money on the internet as long as you lay in the necessary effort. Many people have multiple streams of business to ensure a regular income.
There are now over 1 billion websites on the Internet according to traffic monitoring sources. This is getting on for four times as many as there were in 2010, by any standards that is enormous growth.

This means that whatever market you are in you probably have a lot of website competition, and you can expect it to keep getting ever more competitive.

Your website is a complete waste of time, effort, and money - if you don't attract visitors and retain them long enough to take action. It's hard work getting visitors to your website if you want free traffic, and it can be very expensive if you are paying for it.

Either way you need to be very sure that you make the most of the traffic you do get. Otherwise it is rather like running the bath without putting the plug in, no matter how much is coming in you won't get much of a result.

Remarkably few website owners actually track what their website visitors do or what attracted them to their site in the first place, and understanding this can make a massive difference to your website success.

When you definitively know this information you can make way more from your marketing and advertising, and you can modify your content and site layout to maximize your income.

As an example if your site is about pets you may think most of your visitors are looking for information or products related to dogs and cats, and your website content would be set up accordingly. If it turned out that more visitors were actually interested in rabbits or birds would you want to make some quick changes to your site?

So you need to measure where your visitors are coming from and establish what they are looking for. If you don't know the basic statistics here you are leaving a lot of money on the table.

The first step is to get a tool which provides you with the capability to measure what I am about to take you through. I highly recommend that you set up Google Analytics, it is free and very powerful, and will provide everything you need.

Each of the following sections outlines a key piece of information to measure, pull these together and you will be in a great position to beat your competition and start to dominate your market.

If you are running paid advertising such as Pay Per Click this data is essential to have or you are likely to be wasting a lot of money.

Traffic Source

The information given to you in Google Analytics under 'Traffic Sources' is very important. It tells you where your visitors came from, ie how they found you.

This tells you what marketing and advertising effort is working. It will split out social media sources such as Twitter and Facebook etc, and show links from other sites, as well as showing you how much traffic specific adverts brought in.

You will be able to see how listings on directory or advertising sites such as Yell.com are performing, and whether any activity you may have in forums or on other blogs is having any impact.

If you are putting effort in to search engine optimization (SEO) activity you will also be able to see how well this is doing, and how much organic search traffic you are getting from Google and the other search engines, it will also show you which search terms brought visitors to your site

Device

It is no surprise that websites are receiving more and more traffic from mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets. As these devices get more powerful and better designed for surfing websites this is a trend that can only increase.

Analytics will tell you how much of your traffic comes from desktop computers and from mobile devices.

Do you know how your website looks on a mobile device? If not you should go and check. It should be what is known as 'responsive', this means that it scales automatically according to the device it is being displayed on. This is the difference between it being usable or having the visitor give up and leave immediately.

So if your website renders badly on mobile devices, and you can see that you are receiving a significant volume of your traffic from them, you now know that you need a responsive version of your site.

Bounce Rate

This measures how many of your visitors exit your website from the same page through which they enter. You can see this for every page on your site.

Unless your objective is to send them somewhere else straight away, eg off to an external site where you have an offer, then a high bounce rate is generally a bad thing. It tells you that you are not engaging your visitors.

Maybe your visitor found what they were looking for straight away, but if not you just lost a visitor who will probably never return.

Only you know exactly what you want your visitors to do, and if it is to go to another page on your site to buy something or maybe become a subscriber you can see here how well each of your pages are working to achieve this.

If you are getting a high bounce rate that you don't want the message is clear, you need to have better content or copy writing on the page to engage your visitors.

Also be aware that Google is less inclined to rank sites with high bounce rates, it is a signal to them that you have poor content and are not giving visitors what they are looking for. This will make you much harder to find in the search engines.

Behavior

This section tells you which pages the visitors originally landed on and which ones they visited.

You may be surprised at which pages are getting the most traffic, or conversely which ones are not doing well. From this information you can make changes and better utilize the traffic to take the actions you want.

All your top visited pages should have an easy to find 'call to action' so that you can make the most of the traffic you do get.

Average Visit Duration

Obviously you will normally be looking to engage your visitors for as long as possible, particularly if you want them to come back.

So if this statistic shows that a lot of visitors only stay for seconds or a very short time, you know you need to make some changes.

As with the Bounce Rate statistic your site's overall average visit duration also affects your SEO, another good reason to have really good content.

Summary

Unless you understand these traffic statistics you will never get the most out of your website. If you can't measure it you can't manage it.

Of course you will need to put a little time and effort in to this, but it really will pay dividends and can give you the advantage over your competitors.
Unfortunately, there are many people who get cancer each year and have to deal with these types of illnesses. One type of cancer is blood cancer. Many people wonder what are some of the blood cancer types that people become sick with. Find out what some of the blood cancer types are.

One of the first common types of blood cancer is Leukemia. This unfortunately targets parts of your body that help you form your blood. There are a variety of types of Leukemia but all of them hurt your ability to produce healthy white blood cells. Because people with Leukemia lack white blood cells, typically the complications come from an inability to fight infection versus the cancer itself. Unfortunately, this is one of the more common cancers in children.

Lymphoma is another type of cancer that people get. This is a cancer of the lymph system which sometimes is referred to as Hodgkin's lymphoma or Hodgkin's disease. What happens is that the cells within the lymphatic system start to not form correctly. Eventually it's difficult to fight infections making the person very sick. There are also forms of lymphoma that are called non-Hodgkin's lymphoma which effects the while blood cells instead.

A third type of cancer is Multiple Myeloma. This type of cancer is very dangerous simply because it will effect the plasma cells in the blood. Generally the signs of this type of cancer is difficult to spot until someone has already had some serious infections because the body can't fight them off too well.

You need to be aware that there are multiple versions of each type of these cancers. Some are acute as they appear and harm the body quickly while others will not be so severe and gradually build up unless dealt with. If you need more information on a specific type of cancer, you can talk to your doctor getting all the information you need about a very specific type of cancer.

No matter what, the best advice we can give you is to start treating your cancer as soon as possible. The more time you give the cancer in your blood to evolve, the harder it will be to get rid of it in the end. Blood cancer is not a terminal disease per say, but if you do not start treating it immediately, it may very well be!
We wish you the best of luck with treating the cancer in your blood or avoiding same.
Being diagnosed with any cancer nowadays is not necessarily a death sentence but it is certainly life altering. The drugs and treatment protocols that will be pumped into your body along with biopsies, operations and complications take there toll on your bodies ability to muster up the energy that you may have once had for program adherence for a strict exercise routine.

Some people go through several months of staging and grading depending upon the type of cancer and their actual diagnosis. You can imagine is quite an interruption to any normalcy their lives might have resembled Pre diagnosis. Then comes the treatment options, the path to take, financial considerations and for some family planning. Obviously fitting in exercise, meditation or walks all seem like luxuries during these times but should be fit in just as urgently as their treatment protocols when possible for strength building and stress relief.

Once chemotherapy has come into play and hospitalizations often become necessary exercise usually takes a back seat. Unfortunately, most hospitals don't have a system to integrate exercise into these patients treatment protocols. Even the worst off patients can benefit from mild exercise i.e. walks, relaxation techniques, restorative yoga, chair exercises, light weight lifting, or some form of cardiovascular activity to aid in the reduction in fluid retention and muscle atrophy.

After getting out of the revolving door of multiple hospitalizations the weakness in ones body is immense not to mention a lot of these patients are sent home with aftercare and are still truly ill and incapable of fending for themselves. Medical visits continue for many months if not years. For many patients blood building shots like Neupogen and Epogen are common and painful. Regular monitoring of blood levels called CBC's are taken to check the status of the white and red blood cells along with other important cells that are informative to the hematologist monitoring the cancer patients prognosis.

So when, how and what kind of exercise does one partake in? There are cancer exercise classes popping up allover the place. Yoga classes for the cancer survivor, swim classes, movement classes but what about a mind body class that can address the emotional turmoil along with building the body back up at the same time. Strengthen the mind and the body will follow!

A whole new level of fitness practitioner needs to be created for cancer survivors who are faced with an aftermath of side effects from Lymphedema after having lymph nodes removed to blood issues such as neutropenia or anemia, Epstein Barr, Chronic Fatigue, or even Recurrent Meningitis or histories or Encephalitis from insulted immune systems.

These Practitioners will be faced with more and more medically challenged people who truly need knowledgable guides to help facilitate their journey back to wellness.
At these tough economic times, engaging in any income generating activity is as right as rain. Fortunately, there are several options for making money using various internet resources, these ads being one of them. Here is a sneak peak of how you can take advantage of cheap solo ads and earn substantial income.

How to get cheap solo ads

It is important to note that ads are usually issued on a fixed price or a performance-based program. This makes it easy for network marketing companies to choose the package that suits their pockets. Pay per click, pay per open and pay per conversion are also other methods that can be applied in the search for cheap solo ads that will solve the traffic generation problem that is experienced by most online marketers.

In addition, to get genuine cheap solo ads, you should choose the most trusted solo ad providers. Some of them include
ProSoloAds.com
Explosivecommissions.com
Soloadcoop.com
soloaddirectory.com
discountsoloads.com
patricchan.com
crossingthefreeline.com
mommybizmatchmaker.com
prosoloads.com
singingsteve.com
hollylorene.com
targetedsoloads.com

The list is longer, and it grows by the day.

On top of selecting a trusted ad provider, it is advisable also work with reliable mailing lists in order to create quality links which will generate high quality traffic and increase the return on investment. The price of ads also depend on the list owner and the size of the list. Obviously, the bigger the least, the more expensive is the solo ad package. Other sites like Empower network, Pure leverage, Dot com secret, EZ Money Formula, EZ Money Method, Neucopia, SFM and MLSP are also of great help in getting solo ads whose prices do not break the wallet.

You can also make a dual offer or do an add swap with other customers to get a cheaper package. You can also take advantage of all bonuses, offer and promotions that come with various solo add packages. In fact, it is possible to get solo ads as cheap as $ 5 sometimes. Overall, it is safe to say that cheap sol ads are available, but it all depends on the buyer's pocket. Remember that buying solo ads gives you access to fast, targeted traffic you can use to increase your return on investment.

Concisely, growth of any online business depends on the amount of traffic on the site. Though online marketers do not like paid advertising like ads, it has turned out to be the only reliable source of high quality traffic.
So, you're looking for a job, you've started researching where to apply for jobs, and your resume and cover letters are ready to go. Does this mean that you're ready to start applying? Maybe, maybe not. Being prepared is essential to saving you time and energy, and helping you get as many applications out as quickly as possible.

Most job applications will ask for specific information, some will not. I have found that most companies want you to enter information into their format. Having this information readily available will expedite the applying process, especially when detailed information is requested. Here are some examples I have come across:

Education

Many applications I have filled out ask for the details of my education. This includes:

The school name

Degree type

Major (sometime even the minor)

Dates attended

And even my GPA for that program in some instances

Company Information

I usually see requests for the details of my previous (and current) company, such as:

Company name

Address

Phone number

Supervisor's name

Supervisor's phone number

Dates employed

Responsibilities (occasionally this space only allows for a couple of sentences)

Beginning and ending wages, including bonuses or commissions (some ask for yearly wages and some ask for hourly wages)

Reason for leaving

Gaps in Employment

Most companies I apply to specifically ask for an explanation of any gaps in employment. Even if this is due to unemployment, which many people have suffered from, I recommend listing something else that you were doing without saying 'I was unemployed,' such as: personal travel, family or home management, primary caregiver for terminally ill relative, etc. Just be honest whether you are asked to explain this on an application or in an interview.

References

Some companies will request references directly in the job application. The number of requested references varies by company, but my experience has been that three references are the norm. The information requested is usually not required, but can include:

Reference name

How you know that person

How many years you have known each other

Address

Phone Number

Email address

Letters of Recommendation

Some sites that allow an individual to create a profile for a job search will typically give a place where letters of recommendation, cover letters, and any other pertinent information can be uploaded and saved in the profile.

----

Gathering all of this information each time you are filling out an application can be daunting, and time consuming. Gathering this information ahead of time can save a great deal of time, especially when applying to several jobs. I have a saved draft in my email that includes all of this information in a list so I can copy and paste where I am able to, but above all so I can find the information quickly and easily.

This information can be listed like this as an example (repeat format for additional information in that category):

Education:

[Dates Attended] 1/1/2006 - 1/1/2008 (some applications request the exact date started and finished, some don't)

Chemotherapy prevents the cancer cells from spreading and growing by destroying them or by stopping them to divide.

Cancer cells tend to grow and increase very quickly if they have no control or order. As these cells will grow very quickly, sometimes they may get divided from the actual tumor and they can also travel to other places of the body. So, chemotherapy will be helpful in weakening and destroying the cells at the actual tumor and also throughout the other body parts.

Most usual cells will grow and get divided in a precise and in an orderly way. Some cells can divide very quickly, including the cells in nails, hair follicles, digestive tract, bone marrow, and the mouth. This treatment involves the usage of chemical agents, which can stop the growth of the cells. This can also eliminate the distribution of the cells to other parts from the original site. As a result, this is considering as the systemic treatment.

How it works?

Specifically this is designed to kill the cancer cells. This will be administered through the vein and injected into the cavity of the body, or it can also be given in the form of pills, that will depend on the drug which is using to treat you.

Chemotherapy works by reducing the growth or destroying the cancer cells; but unfortunately it cannot know the difference between healthy cells and cancer cells. So, this can also be unintentionally harmful to the other types of quickly dividing cells, possibly chemotherapy causes side effects.

Some cancer cells will grow rapidly while others grow slowly. As a result, several types of drugs are used in the chemotherapy to target different growth patterns of cancer cells. Each and every drug used in this therapy has specific way of working and they work effectively in the lifecycle of the cancer treatment by targeting the cancer cells. Your physician will decide which chemotherapy drug is suitable for you.

What are the side effects?

The aim is to make your treatment as timely, problem-free and as effective as possible. The treatment works by destroying cancer cells, but it can also cause some side effects such as:

• Low count of red blood cells
• Low count of white blood cells
• Vomiting
• Nausea
• Fatigue
• Hair loss

Though some side effects are uncomfortable, they are temporary. Some can also cause reduction in dose and delays in the treatment or even life-threatening. Fortunately, efficient progress has been made in the improvement of "proactive" therapies, which will be helpful in managing the side effects.

Take active role while managing with the side effects. Learn about the things that all you can and discuss your problems with the doctor.
No matter if we look at lymphoma symptoms in children, lymphoma cancer symptoms in dogs or lymphoma symptoms in general, they are just that, symptoms. They will raise your attention, maybe your awareness and curiosity, and probably the level of fear of the unknown, but neither one means anything if action is missing. Good old saying - for the circumstances to change, we need to change.

So take that first step and visit to the doctor's office. Oh yeah, it is a drag, especially for men, right? How can one be a man and go to seek advice in area as tedious as for example night sweats? Well, be a man and do it. By the way, it has been confirmed that the lymphoma is twice as common in men as it is in women and most common between ages 16-34 and past 55 years old. So here is your first tip. Don't play a hero like that. Be a hero and take charge.

Choose the right cancer treatment center for you or for your loved one. Choose a center that brings together the expertise and skills of physicians from several various specialties who will design a care plan tailored to your needs. The right team understands that a diagnosis of lymphoma can be overwhelming for both, the patient and for their loved ones, and that the "total-person" approach is a must. Approach that provides psychosocial support services along with the leading edge treatments and therapies.

Once the lymphoma cancer symptoms have been examined, the plan for treatment will be devised. Based on the stage of the disease, the treatment may include one of the following or any combination of: chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, bone marrow transplant and supportive care for lymphoma symptoms such as pain, fever, infection and vomiting. There is the continuing follow up care involved as well, to determine the response to treatment, detect recurrence of the disease and manage the side effects of treatment.

The prognosis, as well as the long term survival probability will vary significantly from one individual to the other, as with any form of cancer. The initial hypothesis after the evaluation depends on the stage of disease and the general health of the patient; it depends on the presence or absence of metastasis; it also depends on the response to therapies, medications and procedures.

The treatment is as unique as each patient is. Prompt and timely medical attention, aggressive therapy and continuous follow up are essential to the best prognosis. Lymphoma symptoms can be initially overlooked, but with the raising of knowledge and awareness along with the continuous discovery of new methods our prognosis are better and better.

No one wants to see their loved one suffer this horrible disease. Especially the lymphoma in children symptoms is disturbing. And we all know why that is so and here is the question: can lymphoma be prevented and how? Needless to say there are no known ways to prevent lymphoma. For exactly that reason there is a crying need to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of paying attention to any unusual symptoms in our health.

In the lymphoma case, physicians recommend avoiding known risk factors, avoiding viral infections and any conditions that suppress the immune system. I trust that all efforts leading to eco-friendly life style support in direct and indirect way our quest to live better a life and that includes lymphoma free life. Be part of the changes!

Be am amazed with the value of experience that comes from a simple heart to heart conversation. Yes, when the words are missing, hearts talk.

Breathe in the magnificence of life and breathe out the passion for love so others can be poisoned with it.
Lymphoma symptoms and especially lymphoma cancer symptoms in women are easy to be missed. It is so, because they can be taken for standard discomfort, to which we women are so familiar with by the default of being female.

Lymphoma is a form of cancer of the lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell.

Because our knowledge about this disease is so limited, it comes to be even more dangerous.

Let me share with you what my friend told me about her condition. "At first, I started losing weight. I was so glad to see it happen; we all know how hard it is to lose weight in our age (after 50). The next - somewhat unusual for me condition - was heavy sweating, especially at night. I didn't think twice about this though, it was winter time, I was probably too hot in general from the combination of keeping the house warm and using a heavy comforter, so I thought. You know, we always find an answer if and when we want to. Another day I noticed, my skin was itching; I had an explanation here as well; it must have been something wrong with the soap. Another incident of lymphoma symptoms I did not recognize, another unpremeditated excuse minimizing the seriousness of the situation. It was not until I noticed blood while coughing, when I decided to see my doctor".

Why this story? To help you recognize the limited knowledge about the lymphoma symptoms leading to a very late diagnosis, diagnosis at a very advanced stage of cancer. Should the lymphoma cancer symptoms have been diagnosed early, the condition could be put in regression, if not totally cured. It is not the ignorance though. The difficulty in recognizing lymphoma cancer symptoms is coming from the fact that the same symptoms are very "common" to other, not necessarily serious conditions.

Let's concentrate on lymphoma symptoms in women. What are they?

First and most common of all are the swollen lymph nodes, caused by the lymphoma cancer cells. This can be noticed mainly in the armpits, neck and groin. The nodes are quickly noticeable because of their location near to the skin surface and not so due to pain.

The next symptom is a rapid and unintentional loss of weight. Fever and night sweats, fatigue as well as problems with breathing continue the list. Since these symptoms very closely resemble infection symptoms, a lot of patients are being incorrectly treated for such instead of the true cause - lymphoma.

Mentioned here are only the few lymphoma symptoms in women. There are at least fifteen of them, which women can easily neglect, because we are so used to different kinds of discomforts being women. The list continues with abdominal pain, headaches, weakness and swelling of arms and legs, bowel obstruction, shortness of breath, coughing.

In conclusion, our strong recommendation is to see an oncologist if such symptoms stay unchanged (hopefully not getting any worse) for two - three weeks. It is in the patient's best interest to check it out. With a series of tests the presence or absence of lymphoma can be easily diagnosed; the sooner the diagnosis, the better chances of survival. And - if there is nothing wrong, the peace of mind gained after such visit is just priceless.

Be am amazed with the value of experience that comes from a simple heart to heart conversation. Yes, when the words are missing, hearts talk.

Breathe in the magnificence of life and breathe out the passion for love so others can be poisoned with it.
Leukemia has been driven into remission in two out of three patients with immune therapy. So reports oncologist Austin Porter at the University of Pennsylvania in The New England Journal of Medicine. Porter said, "What we couldn't do with chemotherapy, we were able to do in four weeks with immune therapy."

Leukemia is the destroyer of white blood cells. Low levels of electrolytes diminish the immune system and reduce the body's energy and ability to fight for life.

This immune therapy trial opens the door for new therapies for leukemia and potentially for millions who are suffering from other cancers.

The strategy of this ingenious trial was to enable the body's own immune system to eliminate the cancer cells. The T-cells identify foreign pathogens and prepares for battle. These "Killer Cells" then signal the macrophage to remove the dead cells.

The system used in this trial was to draw blood from the patients, isolate the T-cells, and infect them with a genetically engineered virus. The modified T-cells were then injected back into the patients.

The research team calculated that for every T-cell injected, a thousand cancer cells were killed. It is normal for the patients to develop flu-like symptom due to the quick removal of the dead cancer cells that are processed from the body by the liver and kidneys.

A newborn baby receives Smart Sugars in mother's breast milk and a superload in the colostrum. It is these sugars that supply the immune system for the child and effects him or her for life. These sugars construct the glycolipids and glycoproteins which develop the communication system, the actual operating system (OS) for the human body.

It is a recognized scientific fact that when the human immune system is modulated properly that cancer, HIV, other viruses and harmful bacteria are destroyed by the efficient killer cell team.

In the mid-nineties, I personally experienced similar flu-like symptoms when I ate high quantities of Smart Sugars. My next door neighbor was given two weeks to live because he had virtually no white blood cells. His immune system had failed. His family fed him Smart Sugars and he died in the predicted two weeks; however, the doctor conducted one final blood test and said apparently there was an error with the test because he was producing white blood cells again.

ALL roads to health and healing are via of your immune system. ALL roads to your immune system are traveled via glycolipids and glycoproteins. ALL glycolipids and glycoproteins require Smart Sugars.

JC Spencer has invested two decades in the research and study of glycomics, the science of sugars. He is CEO of The Endowment for Medical Research, Inc http://endowmentmed.org.
After I was diagnosed in January of 1989 the medical profession tried their best to use me as a guinea pig. I believe they do this because they know you are in shock and very vulnerable. At age 29 and three small children, I was definitely in shock. The doctor who diagnosed me said I would be dead in 3 to 3 and one-half years. The fear was overwhelming and I know now that I was incapable of making a rational decision. I decided to put off a BMT and keep my options open.

Finally, at age 35 I decided to have the BMT. My family members were tested and luckily I had two siblings that were both perfect matches. A BMT is not a surgical procedure but a medical procedure that is non-invasive but very intense. I along with nine others I began the procedure on the same day as they did. We received three days of what they call lethal chemotherapy and then four days of total body irradiation. The only way to describe what they do to you is they kill you and then they do their best to try and not just revive you but to keep you alive for as many years afterwards as possible.

Call me the lucky one, but the other nine BMT recipients began to die almost immediately and by the end of the first year there were only three of us left. And during the next six months the other two succumbed to the BMT. Once you have a BMT the leukemia never is the cause of death. The number one cause of death after a BMT is graft vs host. Graft vs host is where your new bone marrow sees all these foreign organs and objects in your body and tries to eliminate them. Remember you have the donor's bone marrow in you and the bone marrow sees your body as completely foreign. The doctors try hard to help the bone marrow to adjust but it is normally a losing cause. I am not absolutely sure but my guess is that all of the other nine people lost their life to the battle that went on inside of them because of graft vs host.

After having the BMT I was tested several times to see whether I had graft vs host but I never did. I did happen to have and get almost every other ailment and malady possible but I have survived and am currently doing okay. Life has been very different from what I was expecting. At 53 years old I am still unable to work a full-time job. The chemotherapy and radiation does things to the body that the doctors are still looking for answers to.

To give you a brief idea as to what I have gone through-- I have had pneumonia 15 to 20 times and each time was a hospital visit of on average 2 weeks. I contracted the shingles more than 10 years ago and still suffer from that on occasion. I have had cataract surgery on both eyes. A month or two after the BMT my weight dropped down to 114 pounds--and at 6' 2" I had very little meat on my body. Besides having no hair anywhere, I was a rack of bones rapped in skin and I could barely walk. At my home I had to crawl up the stairs to the bedroom because I could not stand to be on my feet that long. I had double hernia surgery and several other painful maladies that still seem to linger.

I still have trouble with my weight so the doctors have given me a medication to increase my appetite so that I can gain weight. It took me approximately 2 years to finally get up to 150 pounds but today I have gain much more weight due to the medication and am at nearly 200 pounds. This is about the perfect weight for my body.

To this day my main problems are severe fatigue and terrible digestive track problems. But, at least I am alive and have seen all four of my children grow and become adults. I currently have 3 grandsons and 2 grand-babies in the oven. Life is not necessarily great but I do know that it could be a lot worse.

You can read my full story of when I first began to feel the affects of the leukemia all the way until today. My story regarding the leukemia is so long and detailed that I am writing it in three separate eBooks available at Amazon.com in their eBook Kindle section. The first book is now available under the title: (CML) --The True Story of a Survivor. The second eBook is under way and should be completed within the next 2 months, and the third is yet to come. I have changed my name as the author of the eBook so as to try and keep as much anonymity as possible.
Leukemia is cancer of the blood cells. In leukemia, the bone marrow starts to make a lot of abnormal white blood cells (leukemia cells). These abnormal cells out number the healthy cells gradually leading to anaemia, bleeding and infection. The exact cause of leukemia is unknown but risk factors have been identified. leukemia is grouped into how quickly the disease spreads (acute or chronic) and which blood cells are affected ((lymphocytes or myelocytes).

TYPES OF LEUKEMIA

Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML).
It mainly affect adults. It affects the myleoid cells and usually grow slowly at first. It has little or no symptoms in the initial stages. It is usually diagnosed in the chronic stage when treatment is very effective for most people.

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
This kind almost never affects children. It is found in people over 55 years. It affects the lymphoid cells and grows slowly. It is the most common chronic adult form of leukemia. You may feel well for years and not need any treatment.

Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL)
Most common types of leukemia in children even though adults may get it. It affects lymphoid cells and grows very quickly

Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML)
It is the most common type of acute leukemia in adults. It affects children too. It grows rapidly and affects the myleoid cells.

There are also rare types of leukemia like hairy cell leukemia

RISK FACTORS

Smoking
This increases your risk of AML.

Past chemotherapy or radiation for another cancer makes you a high risk candidate of this cancer.

Exposure to high levels of radiations.
Exposure to these high levels of radiation greatly increases your chance of getting the disease. eg nuclear bomb accidents increases these high level radiations.

Family history.
If members of your family have been diagnosed with leukemia, you have a high risk of getting it too.

Exposure to chemicals
Exposure to chemicals like benzene can cause AML. Benzene is widely used in the chemical industry and found in gasoline and cigarette smoke.

Genetic disorders .
Genetic or inherited disorders such as down syndrome increases your risk.

Blood disorders Myelodysplastic syndrome and certain other blood disorders increases your risk of AML.

Human T-cell leukemia virus type I (HTLV-I): increases your risk of rare type of leukemia called adult T-cell leukemia.

TREATMENT

Treatment is based on a lot of factors like type of leukemia, overall health and age.

Chemotherapy
This is the major form of treatment for leukemia. The drugs are used to kill the cancer cells. You may have a pill or injection into your vein depending on the type of leukemia you have.

Radiation Therapy
X-rays or other high-energy beams are used to damage leukemia cells and stop their growth.

Stem cells transplant
The aim of this type of procedure is to destroy the cells in your bone marrow including leukemia cell and replace them with normal healthy cell. .

THERE IS NO KNOWN PREVENTION FOR LEUKEMIA
It is difficult for someone who is going through a tough time to help someone else who is in need. Most often, he would think to himself, "How am I going to help that person if I'm suffering myself?" Amazingly, there are some people who think very differently from most of us. People like Kathy Giusti, who did not stay at the side lines and watch the world pass by as she sulked down from her disease, have made a great impact in the lives of many.

Kathy Giusti is the founder of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, a charitable organization that is devoted to helping patients suffering from multiple myeloma a currently-incurable blood cancer that threatens over fifty thousand people in the United States alone every year.

She started the foundation with her twin sister after she was diagnosed with the disease and found that there was no research at that time to combat the disease. From its inception, the MMRF has raised over two hundred million dollars and is currently the largest funder in the field of myeloma research.

And yes, while Kathy is occupied in serving others through her charitable foundation, she is combating the disease herself. For over twelve years now, Kathy has been juggling with her life as a philanthropist, a business manager, but most of all, as a wife to her husband and as a mother to her two children.

What is amazing about this is that in spite of her disease, she seems to have never even had it by the way that she works. In fact, she spends most of her time visiting various hospitals and clinics, talking to patients and giving them encouragement that they can make it, and talking to various medical specialists about ways to improve the research to treat multiple myeloma.

Two things can be said regarding Kathy's attitude that makes her very extraordinary: "persistent" and "positive". Most of us, if placed in her situation, would easily be discouraged and let ourselves be taken over by despair and depression - but not Kathy.

It was inconvenient, but she saw the sickness as a challenge for her to do something great not just for herself, but for others as well. And in spite of the great fog of uncertainty that clouded her future, she bravely travelled through the rough and turbulent streams of life, firmly believing that at some point, she was going to see the silver lining and make it through.

And she did. Not just because of her attitude and outlook in life, but also because of her leadership and marketing skills. Kathy has a remarkable way of connecting to people and making friends that she is able to get your attention and listen to her. Because of this, she made so many connections that proved to be very helpful in her time of need. In fact, one of the major reasons why the MMRF has been so successful all these years is because of Kathy's expertise in business and marketing.

Kathy's life is a very inspiring story to many of us who may be going through some tough situations in life and we start thinking that life is over. It's like God telling us to always move forward, believe and hope that things will always get better. Like Kathy, may we be able to say one day, that after we have passed through our trials that our test has become a testimony.
Water is the key to keeping our cells in optimal health.

As someone who has been touched by cancer and lost both a grandmother and grandfather to lung cancer and a 1st cousin to Leukemia, I am passionate about educating the public about the basic structure of a cancerous cell. Shortly after my grandmother passed away my uncle found out he had lung cancer. Three weeks later he was also dead. I want to bring information to people that will help them prevent it if at all possible.

Hydration is one way in which a healthy adult can possibly avoid the horrible occurrence of cancer in the cell. When cells don't have the right amount of vitamins, minerals and nutrients, they begin to die. Our body naturally makes new cells but after awhile, our organs get very tired. Water provides hydrogen and oxygen which fuel the body and brain.

I met a woman whose husband was very ill with kidney cancer. He has suffered a mild stroke and she found him in a cold sweat vomiting. Not knowing what to do, she took him to the hospital to learn that he had kidney cancer. Because their finances were limited and she was facing bankruptcy, she didn't know where to turn.

A member of her community had told her about alkalinity in the body and she became fascinated by the connection between dehydration and cell mutation that resulted in cancerous cells spreading and spitting. It was there when she started to focus more upon hydration and holistic methods of gently stimulating the body back into a more balanced state.

The truth is that cancer, when it hits your family, causes you to take stock of your life and habits. Drinking lots more water is a simply way for everyone to be more healthy and avoid possibly coming down with this dreaded disease. Water penetrates the cell and creates a healthy buoyancy. The extra water helps flush out toxins or free radicals.

Normally our bodies create the necessary antibodies to fight disease, but in a situation where there has been an addition or subtraction of an electron, the body goes into a state of flux.

Drinking more water is easy if you will try to start with a single extra 8 ounce glass per day. While you are drinking the water say to yourself "My body is my temple". Knowing that your body is your temple allow the water to be a source of ease for you. Although you may not have cancer or you may not have a family member with cancer, it is a great idea to take every precaution to avoid contracting it in your life. Drink water and live a long life. Be well.

Carla Wynn is an expert author and web designer. After losing four family members to cancer, she is passionate about educating the community on simply proactive measures that you can take to prevent the contraction of this dreadful disease.

We had so much fun kayaking last week, we decided to go again.
It was a bit warmer, the water was clearer and there were a lot more people.
We set out on the 8-mile trip down the Delaware River. There are two islands you pass on the left as you go down the river.
We stopped at the first island to eat lunch. I think everyone had the same idea and the very small "beach" got very crowded and we quickly left.
As we got into our kayaks, I suggested we leave the main branch of the river and instead go around the island. Last week we stayed with everyone else.
My husband warned us... "It's probably going to be more paddling, since we won't be on the main river and the current will be slower." I decided that I was up for the risk and challenge.
It was beautiful. We were alone. We saw a small inlet and enjoyed the rest of our lunch. We found and paddled around another island. It was almost an island within the island. We wondered if we would find our way out. We kept reassuring ourselves that the river only runs one way and all we had to do was keep following the current.
We saw two blue herons. They took flight and guided us the last few feet until we suddenly came back out to the main river.
As we rejoined the main river I thought, "Yes, that was worth the risk." It was more paddling. It took us longer to reach the destination. We did it our way and it came out just right.
As I paddled I started thinking about how I seem to find lessons for my business wherever I look, and the same thing happened here.
There is such a tendency to follow the crowd. It's tried and true. And, if you do what your instructed to do, you are pretty well assured a certain result. And something else, there is a sense of comfort and safety that goes with being part of a group; in this case the crowd was staying on the main river and to the left of the island.
The question is, is the group that you are following and the strategies and tactics you are being presented with, right for you, your business and the direction you want to go in?
Sure they may work, but will they take you where you want to go and in a way that you want to get there?
Sometimes what's right for you will require more work, and may be more risky. Are you willing to take that risk? Are you willing to say NO to what everyone else is doing and forge the path that's right for you? Are you willing to be you?
And one more thing, remember those blue herons? We saw them just when we were starting to think that we were crazy and may have to find our way back paddling up river, against the flow of the river.
When you take a risk, look for the current, it will always be there, as will the mentors and guides you need to help you find your way even (or maybe especially) as you create your own path.
What would your business look like if you took a left when everyone else took a right?
So what is the Remission Project? - And who founded it and why? Both of these are very good questions.

Today I'm going to share with you who founded the Remission Project and what it was really all about. The story may be a little different from what you have heard.

It all started with 4-time survivor of cancer, Ryan Hamner. Ryan was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 5 and battled the disease until the age of 21. He ended up having a stem cell transplant in 1997 that put his cancer in remission for good!

However, it wasn't until years later that Hamner knew that the cancer was gone for good. The reason is because he never had gone past 6 years without having a recurrence of the disease.

Today Hamner lives a totally cancer free life, and although he has had some residual effects of treatment, he is very much healthy. He works out 4 to 5 times a week, has a black belt in Aiki jiu-jitsu and is the founder of 2survive; an online community for people affected by cancer. This is an organization for cancer survivors obviously, but also for friends, family and medical staff.

One of Ryan's favorite past times is music. He has played music and written music since the age of 13. In 2007, Hamner's career had a nice little kick-start after he landed his first commercial record deal. After that, Hamner was fortunate enough to open for bands such as Hot Chelle Rae, Thriving Ivory and others.

In 2010, Ryan decided he wanted to do something that impacted peoples' lives a bit more than just playing in bars, etc. So Ryan partnered with a video game for children with cancer and created the "Hear the Heart" tour.

The "Hear the Heart" tour would be instrumental in Ryan eventually laying out and founding the Remission Project. During this tour, Hamner performed at hospitals, clinics, Hope Lodges, children's camps and virtually any place that would have him. His message was simple. His message was hope!

Upon returning home from the tour in summer 2010, Hamner was inspired to take things to the next level. He sat down and first wrote the song, "Remission" (The Survivor's Anthem!) and then founded the Remission Project?

The project gained interest from several different local hospitals and organizations, but in the end didn't exactly go down the path Ryan had wanted.

So what was the project anyway? Well, the project was simple. The intent was to do nothing more than bring people affected by cancer together in an online community and through Ryan's music.

Today, Ryan operates 2survive, an online community and website that does just that. 2survive sends care packages to children with cancer, connects survivors of cancer with other survivors, offers health info from doctors, survivor stories and more. 2survive has become Ryan's new Remission Project. If you get the time, please check it out.
Recently released news from a U.S. pharmaceutical company stunned the market when they revealed that they had trialed a new drug that may help in the fight against chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). About one month ago "Ibrutinib," a new orally taken drug that is said to be different from traditional chemotherapy treatments by targeting specific processes and preventing tumor metastasis (spread) was announced.

It is said to work by binding to the B-cells (cells that produce antibodies) while not affecting the T-cells (cells that destroy invading pathogens [microorganisms] with perforins [a protein produced by killer cells of the immune system that causes disintegration] and granules [a small particle]).

When chemotherapy is given to a patient, usually it has the effect of causing the T-cells a great deal of damage. Because of this, the side-effects a cancer patient experiences can be quite severe. However, because Ibrutinib does not affect these vitally import T-cells, the adverse side-effects are significantly reduced.

Treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia is considered to be literally lifesaving. So such an important announcement has gathered an awful lot of interest from both researchers and physicians alike. Studies have been impressive, with the results astounding those involved.

One particular study showed where two different groups were trialed with Ibrutinib, one group (81% of patients) was given a 420 mg dose (considered a low dosage), and another group (40% of patients) was given a 840 mg dose (considered a high dosage), the results were unbelievable. These two groups accounted for 74% of all the CLL sufferers involved in the trials. Further more, the trials showed that nearly 90% of patients showed a 50% reduction in lymph nodes.

The trials carried out on the CLL patients themselves has their challenges, as chronic lymphocytic leukemia is in general a very difficult disease to treat at the best of times. Over 40% of patients involved in these trials who had previously been given at least three prior treatments involving chemotherapy and other drugs, had suffered a relapse. Other challenges were age, as over 20% of the patients were over 70 years old.

To sum this up, Ibrutinib showed, and is still showing amazing results, as nearly 80% of those who were trialed are still taking the drug today, and who are showing a 90% response rate. Over 13% of patients have been able to achieve a complete response, and a minority of 3% have been declared in remission and who will be continually monitored in the future. It certainly seems that Ibrutinib has a future!
In 2011 Japan's nuclear regulator raised the danger level of an ongoing radioactive leak at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi plant to 7 on a 7-point scale. Officials said Tuesday (August, 2013) that a storage tank has leaked 300 tons of radioactive water into the ground.

Here are five things about the Fukushima radiation leak and related investments:

1. Investors in Uranium are Hurt:

The price per ton of uranium has tanked since the March, 2011 nuclear meltdown at Fukushima, which caused losses for anyone invested in uranium mining shares. Germany's shutdown of most of its nuclear reactors pushed the demand for uranium to further lows.

How much Fukushima radioactive material leaked into the ocean?

Scientists measured 5,000 to 15,000 terabecquerels of radioactive material was reaching the ocean in 2011. The biggest threat was from the radionuclide cesium. The radionuclides strontium and tritium pose more of a threat for leaks that enter the ground, as cesium is absorbed by the soil while the other two are not.

A terabecquerel is 1 trillion becquerels, defined as the radioactive decay of one nucleus per second; a sievert is a unit of biological radiation dose which is equivalent to about 50,000 front view chest X-rays.

2) Nuclear Utilities Investors are Hurt:

Investors in nuclear facilities over the last five decades have enjoyed a decent return on their investment, generally in the 10 to12 percent range per year. The Fukushima incident has hurt those investments big time and many of them have fallen by 30 to 50%. It may take years to recover, if they ever do. Some investors sold their stock shares for a loss, to move on to other investments and try to start anew.

The Tokyo Electric Power Plant (TEPCO) estimated between 30 trillion to 40 trillion becquerels of radioactive tritium leaked into the ocean so far contaminating it for years, the Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun reported.

The damaged plant is still leaking about 300 tons of water containing these radioactive radionuclides into the ocean every day in 2013, Japanese officials stated. This huge amount of radiation is poisoning the whole Pacific ocean that more than two million fishermen depend on to earn their living from and to feed their families.

3) Fishermen Livelihoods Have Been Destroyed:

Millions of fishermen from up and down the west coast of America, the west coast of Mexico, all around Japan, Korea, the east coast of China, the west coast of Canada, and the coasts of Alaska have had their fishing livelihoods seriously damaged by the humongous radiation poisoning of the Pacific ocean by Japan. The majority of these fishermen who had their lives invested in fishing and multiple thousands of dollars invested in their boats are now suffering huge losses of income and loss of funds to make bank payments on their fishing boats. Many are declaring bankruptcy and working part-time jobs on land to make ends meet for their families. Fishing in the Pacific ocean, once a billion dollar a year industry, has tanked taking down a million fishing families with it, a truly horrendous development. Japanese fishermen who followed their fathers into the fishing trade have been decimated by the huge poisoning of the ocean all around Japan.

How will the radioactive material affect sea life?

U.S. scientists say the groundwater leaks could become worse. Nicholas Fisher, a marine biologist at Stony Brook University in New York told Live Science for a previous article. "But in the region, yes, it's possible there could be sufficient contamination of local seafood, so it'd be unwise to eat that seafood," Fisher said.

3) Forcing Fishermen and Women to Stop Investments:

Fishing families now do not have any extra funds to make in other investments such as gold, silver, or stocks. Some are losing the very house they called home for the last 5-10 years as they fall behind in their mortgage payments, a situation that causes major displacement of families, depression, and leads to divorces. Christmas celebrations are bleak as families struggle just to put enough food on the table every week. In some families, parents are forced to take amounts out of their retirement accounts just to help feed the family.

4) Playing the Lottery:

As desperation keeps gnawing at them, some fishermen allocate a few dollars each week to placing bets on their state's lottery, praying and hoping for the big win to lift their family out of the economic hole they have been slammed into. This is a long shot but someone wins every week so more persons keep playing the lottery chasing that one-in-a-million odds, even though it takes dollars away from their meager budgets.

5) Millions of Farmers Lose Money on Contaminated Crops:

Farmers in Japan have suffered mightily with the majority of their crops testing radioactive and unfit for the market. Farmers in the largest growing region in the United States, the famous San Joaquin valley in central California have had to spend thousands more per farm to implement protective strategies to protect and clean their produce of any residual radiation particles. Dairy farms in Hawaii, the western United States and Canada have found radiation particles in their milk and were forced to dump thousands of gallons out-wasted. These farmers struggle every month trying to grow their crops contamination-free. Wherefore, investments of time and money in their farms are now questionable if the crop proceeds will pay back more than the yearly expenses. Some have switched to growing crops in indoor greenhouses to provide a measure of protection. Still, minute particles of radiation get into the water source and is taken up by plants even in greenhouses, so the problem continues. Many of these farmers struggle now to make the mortgage payments on their farms and ranches as well as paying the hired hands. Only time will tell how bad this radiation contamination affects the millions of people living near the Pacific ocean.
There are various tests that can be done to help diagnose a patient for leukemia. The following three methods are the most common:

1. Physical Examination - Often used to check for lumps, abnormalities, or certain leukemia symptoms that may be present in a patient. This examination will usually include a thorough revision of the patients medical history, family history, and any risk factors that may exist specific to the patient. After the examination has been completed, it is usual for blood testing to follow.

2. Blood Tests - Such as CBC (complete blood count) tests can detect leukemia by determining the number of both red and white blood cells, together with the platelets (the small, round, thin blood cells that help the blood to stop flowing from a cut by becoming thick and sticky), the number of red blood cells that make-up the blood sample, and the amount of hemoglobin that consists in the blood.

- A peripherial blood smear (a thin layer of blood [stained] smeared on a microscope slide which allows for the cells to be examined microscopically) to determine the presence of "blast cells," which will reveal both the type and quantity of white blood cells that exist, may also be used.

- A cytogenetic analysis of the blood may be used to check for any changes in the chromosomes of the lymphocytes, together with other blood tests to see how well the body's organs are functioning.

3. Biopsy - A fine needle is usually inserted into the hip or breast bone to remove either a sample of bone, or bone marrow for microscopic examination in a laboratory (bone marrow aspiration [most common]). The sample is usually examined by a pathologist for any signs of cancerous cells.

Other forms of biopsy may include:

Although the warm days have come to a halt, the importance of maintaining healthy skin still remains. During the cold winter months, remember to keep an eye on any moles that may have appeared as a result of summer's passing. Self examination is one of the best ways to catch any early signs of skin cancer. So how do you self examine any abnormal growths on your skin? During your self-examination, you will want to follow the ABCD method. Asymmetry: Look for any signs of your mole changing in size. Melanomas are usually asymmetric, meaning one side may not reflect the other. Border: Look for signs of changing in and around the edges of the mole. This includes if they become blurred, irregular, or ragged. Color: Normal moles are one hue in color. Keep note of changes in the shade of the mole, including hues of tan, brown, black, blue, white, or red. Diameter: Melanomas are usually greater than the eraser of a pencil, though some have been diagnosed at a smaller size. Although most moles are benign, it is always recommended to get an expert opinion for proper treatment and in-depth observation. If your mole shows any of these signs of change, consider an evaluation by Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or dermatologist. An expert can help assess your moles and assist you if you decide that removal is necessary or right for you. While many people are born with these growths, some patients may find themselves with moles due to tanning, increased sun exposure, even genes. Understanding the differences between each type of mole will guide you when it comes to determining the best-suited removal procedure. Types of moles: Atypical: The atypical mole is usually larger than other common moles. Some have irregular borders that fade into the skin. Seen in about 1 out of every 10 Americans, atypical moles often have a higher chance of becoming pre-cancerous. In some extreme cases, patients may develop more than 50 of them. Acquired: Also known as the common mole, the acquired mole appears any time after you are born. The acquired mole is often believed to be a result of sun damage. Congenital: According to the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, about 1 in 100 are born with the congenital mole. Though most are brown in color, their shades, shape, and size can vary. Dysplastic: The dysplastic mole is often larger than an average mole. Usually the size of a pencil eraser, these types of moles tend to have lighter, uneven edges. They are often hereditary and in some cases, patients experience 100 of more. Mole removal may be performed under local anesthesia. In some instances, patients may opt for Twilight IV sedation, where patients feel they are falling asleep naturally. Depending on the type of mole you have will determine the type of procedure used to removal your mole. Most flat moles for example, are removed using a "shave excision." In comparison, moles that are darker and deeper may require full thickness excision. Full thickness excision allows for the best specimen evaluation for any pre-cancerous changes. This test only requires a few stitches that are removed during a follow-up visit. If your mole starts to show unusual changes in asymmetry, border, or color, or if you are simply self-conscious about your mole, do not hesitate to contact your plastic surgeon about Mole Removal in NYC.
